Being Honored as Lineman of the Game a Holiday Treat for Byron Grabert
11/22/2016
Entergy Louisiana’s Byron Grabert is in for a holiday treat this Thanksgiving weekend!
The senior lineman is being honored as the Entergy Lineman of the Game at halftime of Sunday’s Saints game against the Los Angeles Rams. Byron, who has been with Entergy for 12 years, earned the recognition through his leadership and focus on safety.
“Byron’s dedication to safety has made him a mentor to linemen throughout the southeast Louisiana region,” said Dennis Dawsey, vice president of customer service for Louisiana.
Byron’s approach to the job serves as a model for others, said Amy Martinez, his supervisor at Entergy Louisiana’s Lockport office.
“Byron leads by example. He is committed to safety and is the epitome of ‘my brother’s keeper,’” she said.
“Safety is the most important thing in our office,” Byron said. “If any of the guys have any safety questions, I will get them the answer to make sure they do everything in the correct way so each of us can go home to our families the same way we left in the morning.”
Byron, his wife and three children are residents of Bayou Blue in Lafourche Parish. In his spare time, Byron coaches youth baseball and soccer and serves on the board of the Lafourche Soccer Association.
