A Conversation with Andreal Turner
10/16/2016
Andreal Turner is a senior specialty clerk for Entergy Mississippi; she joined Entergy 10 years ago. Andreal lives in Greenville with her husband and daughter.
What is your power principle?
My power principle is to treat everyone with respect and to make a lasting impression upon everyone whom I come into contact with. In doing so, I have been able to maintain a healthy working relationship with my colleagues.
What are you most proud of?
I am most proud of my three longstanding relationships: 1) 10 years of service with Entergy, in which I have the pleasure of working with such a wonderful team, 2) being a wife of nine years to my loving and supportive husband, Tamik, and 3) being a mother to my beautiful five-year-old daughter, Taylynn.
What is the best work-related advice you have ever been given?
Don’t assume your next step must be an existing one. Look for what should be happening and isn’t, and go from there.
How active are you in your community?
I am a United Way of Washington County communications committee member, where we plan and market special events including annual meetings and campaign kickoffs. We design campaign brochures and pledge forms distributed to employee groups and individuals in the corporate offices. We also organize special events for the Housing Initiative Project, where we help improve lives and community conditions for elderly and disabled people who are in need of assistance.
