Entergy Arkansas storm update – 5/26/24, noon

Severe weather with reports of multiple tornadoes in Northwest Arkansas early this morning has caused damage and additional outages throughout the state. Currently there are approximately 22,000 customer outages. The Flippin service territory appears to have the hardest impact and has extensive damage to the transmission system. Estimated restoration times listed below may be extended as damage assessments are completed along complex terrain or if there are any additional weather impacts.
Entergy Arkansas crews and contractors have restored approximately 57,000 customers since the storm event(s) started about 3 p.m. on Friday. Damage included approximately 132 spans of downed power lines, 46 broken poles and 15 transformers. A span is the distance between two utility poles. Crews are working today to restore the remaining outages carried over from Saturday, May 25.

Region/Town Area Information (May 26, 2024, 12:00 p.m.)
Pulaski County/Little Rock
Damages include 74 spans of downed power lines, 26 broken poles and eight transformers.
Some areas require special equipment to repair damages. Estimated restoration times for these specific customers is reflected on the outage map, and it is projected that all customers should be restored by 4 p.m. today.
Garland County/Hot Springs
Damages include 42 spans of downed power lines, 16 broken poles and eight transformers The estimated restoration time for customers that can safely take power is 10 p.m. tonight.
Hot Springs County/Malvern
Damages include 50 spans of downed power lines, 16 broken poles and three transformers. The estimated restoration time for customers that can safely take power is 10 p.m. tonight.
Clark County/Arkadelphia
Damages include 33 spans of downed power lines, six broken poles, two transformer and two cross arms. The estimated restoration time for customers that can safely take power is 10 p.m. tonight.
Jefferson & Grant County/Pine Bluff, Sheridan, and Redfield
Damages include two broken poles, four broken crossarms, 14 spans of wire down and five areas where vegetation needs to be cleared before repairs can be complete. Crews are currently working to restore power in multiple locations. Additional resources have arrived today to assist with restoration efforts. The estimated restoration time for customers that can safely take power is 10 p.m. tonight.
Arkansas County/Stuttgart
Damages include two spans of downed power lines, 20 broken poles and one transformer. Currently, crews are working in the Stuttgart and Tarrellton areas. The estimated restoration time for customers that can safely take power is 4 p.m. today.
Union County/El Dorado
Damages include 12 spans of downed power lines, and three broken poles. Additional crews continue to work in the Camden area. The estimated restoration time for customers that can safely take power is 10 p.m. tonight.
Randolph County/Pocahontas
As of 10 a.m., 2,582 customers are without power. Entergy crews are working to assess damages in the Pocahontas area. The estimated restoration time for customers that can safely take power is 10 p.m. tonight.
Baxter County/Mountain Home
Entergy crews are working to assess damages in the area. Although some customers will receive power sooner, estimated restoration times may be extended as damage assessments are completed.
Boone County/Harrison
Entergy crews are working to assess damages in the area. Although some customers will receive power sooner, estimated restoration times may be extended as damage assessments are completed.
Marion County/Flippin, Yellville
Entergy crews are working to assess damages in the area. Although some customers will receive power sooner, estimated restoration times may be extended as damage assessments are completed.
Sharp County/Batesville
Entergy crews are working to assess damages in the area. Although some customers will receive power sooner, estimated restoration times may be extended as damage assessments are completed.
Customers who have structures that are destroyed and cannot take power are asked to inform Entergy by calling 1-800-ENTERGY (1-800-368-3749). More information regarding options for your electric service has been posted on our Entergy Storm Center.
Safety First!
As with any weather event, please be mindful of the following safety tips:
- Live wires can be deadly. Stay away from downed power lines. Call 1-800-9OUTAGE or 1-800-968-8243 to report downed or dangling power lines, damaged or downed poles or other damaged equipment.
- Do not trim trees or remove debris on or near downed power lines. Only power company crews or their contractors should remove trees or limbs touching power lines. Again, stay away from downed power lines.
- Keep away from the immediate areas where crews are working. There is always the danger of moving equipment and the possibility of construction materials, limbs or overhead wires falling to the ground.
- If you plan on using a generator for temporary power, get a licensed electrician and disconnect from the utility electric system before hooking up to your main electric panel.
- Do not run a generator in a confined space without adequate ventilation. Use them only outdoors, following all manufacturers’ safety guidelines.
- Turn off any electrical appliances that can easily be turned to the off position until power is restored.
