Entergy Arkansas storm update – 6/26/23, 8:30 p.m.

Entergy Arkansas sincerely apologizes for the inconvenience of being without power and thanks for your patience as we continue to work diligently to safely restore power in your area.

Restoration teams are responding to damages as quickly and safely as possible. Entergy Arkansas continues to make significant progress since the peak of more than 62,000 outages Sunday afternoon. Approximately 30,000 Entergy customers are still without power. With the support of helicopters assisting in identifying damages, we have identified 394 broken poles, 110 damaged transformers and 663 spans of downed wire. Restoration teams are currently engaged in assessing remaining damages.

Entergy Arkansas strives to provide the most up-to-date information about outages, but customers with special needs or other circumstances in hard-hit areas may want to seek options for other accommodations until power is restored, especially with the hot weather predicted this week.

Cooling Center Opened for Customers

Network updates as of 8:00 p.m.:

Pope County

Russellville

In the Russellville Network, Entergy as of 4 p.m. has assessed approximately 70% of the known damage. We have identified approximately 25 broken poles, 54 spans of wire, 12 broken cross arms, 6 destroyed transformers, and 18 spans of wire that need tree trimming. Entergy has backyard and track machines for some inaccessible areas.  We expect to receive additional resources of 5 crews from Louisiana starting tomorrow morning. We currently have 32 linemen and management on site, 10 tree trimmers, and 13 scouts assisting with the restoration efforts. We have crews working today on Hwy 164, Hwy 105 South and Hwy 326 area repairing broken poles in the Moreland area and expected power to be restored today by 10 p.m. in those specific areas. We also expect power to be restored to the 3500 block of E. 6^th St. and Tyler Rd. by 10 p.m. We expect to restore power to the Gravel Hill Rd. and East Morgan Rd. areas by 10 p.m. We will continue restoration efforts Tuesday morning in the Scottsville and Gunter Mtn. Rd.  service area repairing broke poles.  Entergy expects 100% of all customers who can safely receive power to be restored by Wednesday 10 p.m.

Arkansas County

Stuttgart

Thunderstorms and high winds rolled through the area on Sunday evening causing numerous outages in our area. Crews have been working throughout the day to assess damages and restore as many customers as possible.  We have restored the Stuttgart Memorial Hospital and will continue to work throughout the evening. The current estimated restoral time is Wednesday 10 p.m.

Dewitt/Gillette/Tarleton Area

Assessment is 20% complete and as of now we have 11 broken poles, and 25 spans of wire down. Crews will continue to assess the area and expect to have assessment complete by tomorrow. The current estimated restoral time is Wednesday 10 p.m.

Lonoke County

Lonoke/Carlisle/Hazen

Assessment is 75% complete and as of now we have 6 poles down, 13 spans of wire, and 2 damaged transformers. Assessment should be completed by tomorrow with additional crews working in the area. We have 18 additional crews secured that will be distributed evenly throughout the network focusing on the hardest impacted areas first. The current estimated restoral time is Wednesday 10 p.m.

Bradley County

Warren

In the Warren Network Crews are working as quickly and as safely as possible to get power restored to as many customers as possible. Hermitage, Warren, and Moro Bay outages are tied to a transmission outage. A tree has been identified as being on the line. The current estimated restoral time is Tuesday 10 p.m.

Stone County

Damage assessment is 50% complete with 4 broken poles, 23 spans of wire down, 1 down transformer, and 6 spans of wire that require vegetation removal identified.  We plan to have 75% of the damage assessed by 10 p.m. Crews are working diligently and safely to restore power to the main lines with additional line and vegetation personnel enroute to help with the restoration process. Specialized track equipment is being utilized to reach hard to access areas. The current estimated restoral time is Wednesday 10 p.m.

Conway County

As of 4 p.m., damage assessment is 45% complete with 3 broken poles, 13 spans of wire down, and 5 spans of wire that require vegetation removal identified. We plan to have 90% of the damage assessed by 10 p.m. Crews are working to restore power to the main lines with additional line and vegetation personnel enroute to help with the restoration process. Specialized track equipment is being utilized to reach hard to access areas.  The current estimated restoral time is Wednesday 10 p.m.

Faulkner County

As of 4 p.m, damage assessment is 45% complete with 19 broken poles, 41 spans of wire down, 4 down transformers, and 9 spans of wire that require vegetation removal identified.  We plan to have 90% of the damage assessed by 10 p.m. Crews are working diligently and safely to restore power to the main lines with additional line and vegetation personnel enroute to help with the restoration process.  Specialized track equipment is being utilized to reach hard to access areas. The current estimated restoral time is Wednesday 10 p.m.

Safety is our number one priority. If you lose power, keep the following tips in mind:

• Stay away from downed power lines and assume they are energized.
• Report a power outage on the myEntergy site or call 1-800-9OUTAGE. There is no need to speak with a customer service representative to report an outage if completed online.
• If you have a portable generator, use it safely. DO NOT run it in an enclosed space. If connecting the generator to the whole house, do so only if the connection has been installed by a licensed electrician to prevent back feed on to the distribution system.
• Do not open your refrigerator or freezer door. Food will stay cold much longer this way. If outside temperature is below freezing, consider placing food in an ice chest outside.
• Please stay clear of linemen as they work to safely restore power.

We understand the extreme heat during this time. To protect yourself and your families, follow these recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:

• Drink fluids, even if you don't feel thirsty.
• Wear loose, lightweight clothing and a hat.
• Replace salt lost from sweating by drinking fruit juice or sports drinks.
• Avoid spending time outdoors during the hottest part of the day, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Wear sunscreen: a sunburn affects the body's ability to cool itself.
• Air conditioning is the best way to cool off; if you are using a generator, do so safely.
• Check on seniors, who can be particularly susceptible to extreme temperatures.
