Entergy Named as National Leader in Economic Development Tenth Year in a Row
09/06/2017
For 10 years running, Site Selection magazine has named Entergy as one of the nation’s Top 10 utilities in economic development. The award is due in large part to the integral role Entergy played in supporting projects that resulted in nearly $27.5 billion of capital investment and the creation of more than 5,758 new jobs within the service territory in 2016.
“Entergy is honored to be recognized for the 10th year in a row as one of the top national utilities in economic development by Site Selection magazine,” said Rod West, group president, utility operations for Entergy Corporation. “This award is indicative of Entergy’s commitment over the past decade to growing our region’s economy and serving as great allies to our local communities. We look forward to a continued, successful partnership as we support economic growth in our area.”
Over the past 10 years, Entergy has been directly involved in projects that resulted in more than $120 billion of capital investment and more than 92,000 new jobs.
Entergy provides companies with access to essential information needed to locate, expand and promote their company in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. In addition, Entergy provides companies with services in site selection, project management, large projects and contracts.
“Entergy has earned Site Selection magazine’s Top Utilities in Economic Development honor every year for the past decade, thanks to perennially robust results in terms of helping companies locate or expand operations,” said Adam Bruns, managing editor of Site Selection magazine. “The collaboration and resourcefulness of the Entergy economic development team consistently accrues to the benefit of communities and companies throughout Entergy’s territory.”
Criteria used by Site Selection for its rankings include the use of innovative programs and incentives for business, website tools and data and each utility’s job-creating infrastructure and facility investment trends.
This year’s ranking can be viewed in the September 2017 print edition and on Site Selection’s website.
