Entergy New Orleans’ annual golf tournament raises $150K for The Power to Care Program

11/06/2024

Entergy New Orleans hosted its annual golf tournament at English Turn Golf & Country Club, raising approximately $150,000 for Entergy’s The Power to Care program, which is administered by the New Orleans Council on Aging. Entergy New Orleans employees, community members and corporate partners formed 41 teams to compete in an 18-hole scramble.

Delta Utilities and Power Engineers were Diamond level sponsors and PFES, APC Construction, and Quanta Services served as Eagle Sponsors for this year’s tournament. The New Orleans Council on Aging will distribute the funds raised to older adults and customers with disabilities in Orleans Parish who need bill payment assistance. All donations go directly to helping our customers make payments on their Entergy bill and are not used for fundraising or administrative purposes.

"Our programs, like Power to Care, are designed to ensure our customers have access to resources that make their bills more manageable,” said Nyka Scott, vice president of customer service at Entergy New Orleans. “We are grateful to all of the sponsors and generous donors whose support enables us to continue providing critical assistance to our community’s most vulnerable residents."

Through Entergy's The Power to Care program, local nonprofit agencies, employees, and customers throughout our service territory donate to provide emergency bill payment assistance to older adults and customers with disabilities in their time of need. Entergy shareholders double the impact of contributions by matching all donations to the program, up to $1 million.
