Entergy Volunteers Help Build, Deploy Floating Islands
06/14/2018
Hundreds of students and volunteers with Coastal Conservation Association, Shell and Entergy recently collaborated to build and deploy floating islands as part of the Floating Islands Restoration Project near Cypremort Point in Vermillion Bay.
Volunteers planted wetland island habitat and native plants into BioHaven Floating Islands. The floating islands, according to CCA, were deployed just south of Quintana Canal.
"Our coast is vital to our customers and to our business across Louisiana," said Chip Arnauld, Entergy Louisiana region customer service senior manager. "Entergy is proud to partner with CCA on this project and we hope this serves as an example of how conservation organizations and corporate partners can work together to make a difference for Louisiana."
