Sallie Rainer Named 2018 HBJ Women Who Mean Business Honoree

Sallie Rainer, president and CEO of Entergy Texas, was included in the Houston Business Journal’s 2018 Women Who Mean Business as an outstanding leader in energy. Finalists were chosen based on criteria including career achievement, contributions to their company, community involvement and demonstrated leadership.
Rainer has served as president and CEO of Entergy Texas since 2012. She joined Entergy in 1984 in the generation planning department and advanced through various management roles in long-term system planning, regulatory affairs, and energy settlements and federal policy.
Rainer currently serves as a member of the board of directors for Interfaith of The Woodlands, Lone Star College Foundation and the Greater Houston Women's Chamber of Commerce. She is also a member of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Light the Night Executive Committee, United Way of Greater Houston Montgomery County Regional Council and the Texas Children's Hospital Ambassadors and Leadership Cabinet. She also serves on the Texas A&M University Engineering Advisory Board.
A native of Louisiana, Rainer holds a bachelor's degree in engineering technology from Louisiana State University and a master's in business administration from Texas A&M University.
Rainer will be honored at an event in October as well as be featured in special Women Who Mean Business publication.
