Daniel Turton Joins Entergy as Vice President, Federal Governmental Affairs

NEW ORLEANS – Entergy Corporation (NYSE: ETR) today announced that Daniel Turton has been named vice president, federal governmental affairs. As the head of Entergy's Washington, D.C., office, Turton will be responsible for developing and implementing the company's engagement strategies with elected officials and key policymakers.
"Dan Turton will play a key role in effectively positioning Entergy's voice in the ever-evolving energy policy debate in Washington," said Rod West, Entergy's executive vice president and chief administrative officer. "Dan has a long history of working on complex policy issues among multiple constituencies to achieve important legislative goals. His more than 20 years of experience in both the executive and legislative branches of the federal government will be extremely valuable in this important leadership role. We are particularly pleased with his proven ability to work effectively across all political parties and affiliations; this skill is particularly relevant to us as our political leaders and federal agencies address the challenges facing today's energy industry."
Turton was most recently a deputy assistant to the President for legislative affairs and the President's primary liaison with the House of Representatives. In addition, Turton also worked as staff director for the House Committee on Rules, served on the Obama-Biden transition project, and held multiple federal governmental positions. Prior to joining the Obama administration, Turton held the position of vice president at Timmons & Company, a government affairs firm, where he represented clients before the Senate and the House of Representatives.
Turton earned a bachelor of arts in government from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa. Turton will report to Kimberly Despeaux, senior vice president, federal policy, regulatory and governmental affairs effective April 1.
