Companies prepared should storm impact Louisiana
NEW ORLEANS – Entergy New Orleans, Inc., Entergy Louisiana, LLC and Entergy Gulf States Louisiana, L.L.C. are closely monitoring Tropical Storm Karen as it moves toward landfall this weekend along the Gulf Coast.
Entergy's utility companies in Louisiana are preparing for the possibility of thunderstorms, heavy rains and high winds, which could lead to power outages in southern Louisiana. Entergy's line crews and contractors are on notice and prepared to safely restore service to customers as quickly as possible.
Entergy urges customers to monitor the storm and to prepare to implement their own storm plans if needed.
Storm-preparedness tips, updates and outage maps are available to customers through Entergy Storm Center. Customers also can access outage maps and other account, storm and safety information by downloading Entergy's free app.
Through entergytext.com, customers can sign up to send and receive text information about power outages at their homes and businesses. Registration is simple. Customers will need their service address, ZIP code and the last four digits of the primary account holder's Social Security Number. From any text-capable cell phone, send the message REG to 368374. The system will respond and ask for an Entergy account number and ZIP code.
As with any storm, safety is always Entergy's first priority for employees and customers. Customers should call 800-9OUTAGE (800-968-8243) to report downed or dangling power lines, poles or other damaged equipment.
