LAKE CHARLES, La. – Entergy Louisiana celebrated local organizations and nonprofit agencies Thursday during the We Power Life – Southwest Region luncheon at Pat’s of Henderson in Lake Charles.
Entergy shareholders invested more than $10.9 million in charitable contributions to Louisiana nonprofits and community partners in 2016. The monies have gone toward projects that include education and anti-poverty initiatives to economic development and the environment.
“At Entergy, we are proud to power life in our communities,” said Phillip May, Entergy Louisiana president and CEO. “Now, we aren’t in this effort alone. We rely on the partnership of local agencies like the ones that are here today. They provide critical services and resources that help make our communities great places to work and live – it’s an impact we’ll continue to readily support.”
As a special thank you, agencies were invited to enter a drawing to win additional partner appreciation grants. To win an additional grant, agencies had to submit a photo of one of the events that Entergy helped sponsor. Agencies that won additional grants included Musicmakers2U Inc., Calcasieu Parish Schools – S.P.
