Entergy Mississippi to offer free tax assistance for customers at upcoming Super Tax Day events

JACKSON, Miss. – This February, Entergy Mississippi will offer our customers free tax preparation and support at upcoming Super Tax Day events throughout our service area. Qualified Entergy customers can walk in and receive assistance from IRS-certified volunteers, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free income tax filing experience.

Entergy Mississippi customers will have access to essential information about tax credits and deductions they might qualify for, including the federal Earned Income Tax Credit, a key program that helps many American families. In 2024, Entergy helped low-income customers receive $55 million in federal tax returns across the company’s service area. This year, Entergy’s trained tax volunteers will continue to assist customers in determining their eligibility for this and other credits, helping to maximize their potential refunds.

The Super Tax Day events will take place at locations throughout Mississippi, making it convenient for customers to take advantage of this free and valuable service. Customers unable to attend an event in their area can still receive free, in-person tax preparation services by scheduling an appointment at one of the Entergy-sponsored Volunteer Income Tax Assistance sites, or VITA, through April 15.

“We recognize that tax filing season can be a difficult period for many of our customers, and we are committed to ensuring they have the resources and support necessary to navigate this process with ease," said Robbie Kemp, vice president, customer service for Entergy Mississippi. "By providing these free services, we aim not only to assist our customers but also to give back to the communities we serve."

Additionally, participants will learn about the Kids to College program, which offers a free child savings account funded by Entergy. Families that enroll their child in this program will receive a $50 contribution from Entergy, along with a match for savings in the account up to $300 this year.

For more than 15 years, Entergy has provided free tax preparation for low-to-moderate income customers at VITA sites throughout the Entergy region, including Mississippi.
