Entergy New Orleans to offer free tax assistance for customers at upcoming Super Tax Day events

This February, Entergy New Orleans will offer its customers free tax preparation and support at upcoming multiple Super Tax Day events throughout New Orleans. Qualified Entergy customers can walk in and receive assistance from IRS-certified volunteers, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free income tax filing experience.

Entergy New Orleans customers will have access to essential information about tax credits and deductions they might qualify for, including the federal Earned Income Tax Credit, a key program that helps lift many Americans out of poverty. In 2024, Entergy helped low-income customers receive $55 million in federal tax returns across the company’s service area. This year, Entergy’s trained tax volunteers will continue to assist customers in determining their eligibility for this and other credits, helping to maximize their potential refunds.

“We are excited once again to offer free tax preparation services to our customers who need assistance," said Deanna Rodriguez, president and CEO of Entergy New Orleans. "By providing these free services in the city we serve, we hope to offer our neediest customers the support to navigate this process with ease."

Additionally, participants will learn about the Kids to College program, which offers a free child savings account funded by Entergy. Families that enroll their child in this program will receive a $50 contribution from Entergy, along with a match for savings in the account up to $300 this year.

The Super Tax Day events will take place at locations throughout New Orleans, making it convenient for customers to take advantage of this free and valuable service. Customers unable to attend an event in their area can still receive free, in-person tax preparation services by scheduling an appointment at one of the Entergy-sponsored Volunteer Income Tax Assistance sites, or VITA, through April 15.

Entergy New Orleans’ Super Tax Day dates, time and locations are:

• Saturday, Feb. 1 - 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at St. Maria Goretti Parish Church, 7300 Crowder Blvd.
• Saturday, Feb. 8 - 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at University of Holy Cross, 4123 Woodland Dr.
• Saturday, March 15 - 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the East New Orleans Regional Library, 5641 Read Blvd.
• Saturday, March 22 - 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Algiers Regional Library, 3014 Holiday Dr.

For more than 15 years, Entergy has provided free tax preparation for low-to-moderate income customers at VITA sites throughout the Entergy region, including locations across New Orleans.
