08/24/2022
Third consecutive year for the Entergy Solutions program to be honored by EPA
THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Entergy Texas is proud to announce that it has received the 2021 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year—Sustained Excellence Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy for the third year in a row.
The Sustained Excellence Award is the highest honor bestowed by the ENERGY STAR program. Winners are part of a distinguished group that has made a long-term commitment to fighting climate change and protecting public health through energy efficiency. They are among the nation’s leaders in driving value for the environment and the economy.
The Entergy Solutions residential and commercial programs in Texas have achieved evaluated energy savings of 57 million kilowatt hours through 2021. This is the equivalent of saving the carbon dioxide emissions from about 5,000 homes’ electricity use for one year.
“We’re proud to be recognized with the Sustained Excellence Award for the third year in a row for our work to provide customers with innovative ways to efficiently manage their energy usage and save money on their bills,” said Mark Delavan, program manager at Entergy Texas. “Our Entergy Solutions program is an important component of our commitment to helping customers lower their utility bills, increase system reliability and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.”
“We know it’s going to take all of us working together to tackle the climate crisis, and the 2022 ENERGY STAR award-winning partners are demonstrating what it takes to build a more sustainable future,” said Michael S. Regan, administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. “These companies are showing once again that taking action in support of a clean energy economy can be good not only for the environment but also for business and customers.”
Each year, the ENERGY STAR program honors a group of businesses and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to protecting the environment through superior energy achievements. ENERGY STAR award winners lead their industries in the production, sale, and adoption of energy-efficient products, homes, buildings, services, and strategies. These efforts are essential to fighting the climate crisis and protecting public health.
Winners are selected from a network of thousands of ENERGY STAR partners. For a complete list of 2022 winners and more information about ENERGY STAR’s awards program, visit energystar.gov/awardwinners.
