Entergy Texas is strengthening its leadership team with the appointment of Abby Weaver as vice president of business operations and strategy. Effective March 2025, Weaver will play a pivotal role in driving the company’s long-term growth, enhancing operations, and advancing strategic initiatives. With deep expertise in finance, planning, and market operations, she will help position Entergy Texas and its customers for success in a rapidly evolving energy landscape.

“Entergy is preparing for a period of significant growth in Southeast Texas, due in part to the unique economic advantages of our region and its people,” said Eliecer Viamontes, CEO of Entergy Texas. “Abby has played a key role in preparing the company for this opportunity, and her experience and industry knowledge make her an ideal choice to continue positioning us to enable significant economic benefits for our customers and communities.”

Weaver's new role will involve overseeing the strategic direction of Entergy Texas, ensuring the company's business strategy is closely aligned with its long-term goals and priorities. She will lead the planning and execution of strategies for Entergy Texas' significant infrastructure investments, including power generation, grid modernization and energy efficiency programs, all focused on delivering customer-centric outcomes. Additionally, as chief of staff to Viamontes, Weaver will manage large-scale, cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives across the corporation. She will also focus on fostering and strengthening strategic partnerships with external stakeholders, including trade associations, industry organizations, and other key entities.

"I am honored to assume this new role with Entergy Texas during such a pivotal moment in the energy industry," said Weaver. "I look forward to collaborating with our valued public and business partners to shape a promising future for the communities we serve. Entergy Texas is poised to build upon its legacy as a leader in the region known as America's energy capital."

Since joining Entergy in 2003, Weaver has held a variety of leadership roles, including finance director for Entergy Texas and a director in the system planning and operations organization. Most recently, she served as the company’s director of resource planning and market operations––leading fuel, generation, transmission and wholesale power planning. Weaver, a native of Louisiana who has lived and worked in Texas for two decades, holds an MBA from Sam Houston State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of New Orleans.
