Outages Under 36,000 Tuesday Morning

09/04/2012

Most Areas More than 90 Percent Restored

NEW ORLEANS – Entergy crews restored approximately 75,000 more Louisiana customers since late Monday afternoon. As of 9 a.m. Tuesday, 668,000 customers in Louisiana have had their power restored since Hurricane Isaac left 704,000 homes and businesses without electricity.

Six substations and 11 transmission lines remain out of service in Louisiana.

For safety reasons, those whose customer-owned electrical equipment, such as the "weather head" and related conduit, has been damaged must have a licensed electrician make repairs before Entergy can reconnect power. Visually inspect the area outside your home near the meter. If the meter or any of the piping and wires on the wall of your home or office is gone or looks damaged, call a licensed electrician for advice.

Entergy Corporation is an integrated energy company engaged primarily in electric power production and retail distribution operations. Entergy owns and operates power plants with approximately 30,000 megawatts of electric generating capacity, including more than 10,000 megawatts of nuclear power, making it one of the nation's leading nuclear generators. Entergy delivers electricity to 2.8 million utility customers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. Entergy has annual revenues of more than $11 billion and approximately 15,000 employees.
