Roseburg Forest Products Receives $1.3M in Incentives from Entergy Arkansas

08/05/2019

Roseburg Forest Products was recently presented with incentive checks totaling $1,366,392.00 by the Entergy Arkansas Entergy Solutions Program.  The program provides technical and financial support to help Entergy Arkansas customers identify and implement projects that reduce energy usage.

Roseburg Forest Products is a wood products company headquartered in Springfield, Oregon. Founded in 1936 Roseburg has been a manufacturer and marketer of wood products that include engineered wood, lumber, softwood plywood, medium density fiberboard, composite and hardwood panels, decorative laminate, wood pellet fuel, and other value-added panel products. The Roseburg MFD El Dorado Arkansas plant enrolled in the Large Commercial and Industrial Solutions Program offered by Entergy Arkansas. Through this program the plan upgraded its interior and exterior lighting, lighting controls and variable-speed drive fans.

The energy-efficiency improvements are saving 9,127,704 kWh annually, which is the equivalent to eliminating the carbon dioxide emissions from 726,304 gallons of gasoline, according to Environmental Protection Agency calculations.

“When Roseburg purchased the El Dorado MDF plant earlier this year, the existing relationship with Entergy – and the outstanding energy solutions they offer – was an added bonus,” Roseburg El Dorado MDF Plant Manager Randy Reutzel said. “Electrical Supervisor Jack LaBua’s work with Entergy to upgrade our systems and maximize facility energy performance benefits not only Roseburg, but the entire region’s energy landscape, as well. We use less energy and save more money, and the community reaps the environmental rewards of less demand on the energy grid.”

“Entergy Arkansas is proud to support the energy conservation efforts that Roseburg Forest Products is achieving in every-day operations. They are helping to reduce the overall demand for electricity, which reduces the need to build new power plants. They’re helping the environment while also saving money on energy costs. They are an excellent example of an organization being proactive to manage their energy usage and reduce their carbon footprint,” said Russell Harris, Entergy Arkansas industrial account manager.

Entergy Corporation is an integrated energy company engaged primarily in electric power production and retail distribution operations.
