Safety remains first as Entergy Arkansas crews work to restore power
04/04/2025

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Entergy Arkansas remains storm ready year-around. This week, crews have been working around the clock to restore power interruptions caused by multiple rounds of severe weather that began April 2. Although outage numbers reached more than 27,000 customers across the state at its peak, Entergy Arkansas crews have promptly restored power to many more customer interruptions caused by this week’s cycle of severe weather, including two confirmed EF3 tornadoes. As the weather forecast calls for more weather impacts including high winds, lightning, heavy rain and flooding through Saturday evening, the company will remain ready to respond as conditions allow.
Entergy Arkansas has mobilized hundreds of line workers, tree trimmers and support personnel from across the state and region to assist in the restoration efforts. Crews are working tirelessly to assess damage, clear debris and rebuild the electric infrastructure impacted by the storms by using thicker, stronger poles. In some cases, concrete poles are being used to improve system infrastructure and make it more resilient. Damages consist of approximately 250 broken poles, 382 spans of downed wire, 12 transmission structures and 85 transformers.
"The safety of our customers and employees is a core value as we work to restore power as quickly as possible," said Ventrell Thompson, vice president of customer service for Entergy Arkansas. “We understand the inconvenience these weather events have caused, and we want to assure our customers that our teams are doing everything in their power to get the lights back on promptly and return home to their families."
Entergy Arkansas crews, along with mutual assistance contractors, will restore power to customers as safely and quickly as possible until the job is done. To support the safety of our workforce and avoid fatigue, individuals should not work more than 16 hours in a 24-hour period and should never work more than 13 days in a row without a 24-hour rest period. This allows our restoration crews to get adequate rest and safely restore power when working.
