NEW ORLEANS -- Beginning Tuesday, Aug. 18 and running through Saturday, Aug. 29, weather permitting, Entergy New Orleans, Inc. crews will be working on Annunciation Street, from Nashville Avenue to Milan Street as the company continues the technological upgrade to its electric power transmission system.

Multiple Entergy crews with bucket trucks and cranes will conduct work in stages and traffic will be blocked at the site of each steel transmission pole. Here’s a breakdown:

· When "pre-pull" and "post-pull" work is underway, there will be rotating traffic closures (2-4 hours) and no parking will be allowed on either side of Annunciation. Instead of using Annunciation, drivers should use Tchoupitoulas or Magazine streets.

· During the critical "pull" work, all automobile, bicycle and pedestrian traffic will be prohibited on Annunciation Street from Nashville to Milan. Jena, Cadiz, Bordeaux, Lyons, Robert, Soniat, Dufossat, Bellecastle, Valmont and Leontine streets will be closed to thru traffic at Annunciation and there will be no parking allowed on either side of Annunciation during the pull. If traveling between Magazine and Tchoupitoulas there will be safe/guarded crossings at Jefferson Avenue, Upperline Street, Valence Street and Napoleon Avenue.

Customers in the impacted areas have received specific information about the transmission line replacement procedure in advance. Customer service representatives will continue reaching out to impacted customers while work is in progress.
