Since the peak outage count of 21,000 customer outages yesterday at 7 p.m., Entergy Arkansas has successfully restored power to 89 percent of customers impacted by the storms.

Entergy Arkansas crews made significant restoration progress overnight as lineworkers assessed damage and immediately got to work restoring 78 percent of customers in the first 12 hours.

For some people, giving back is built into their DNA. Jonathan Simmons, operations technician at Entergy’s Independence Plant in Arkansas, has already logged more than 145 volunteer hours this year.

Batesville-area employees from Entergy Arkansas visited West Elementary School this week, where they spent the morning with around 100 second grade students. The goal for the visit is to help educate the next generation about the importance of trees and the important role they play for the environment, animals and humans.

This week, crews have been working around the clock to restore power interruptions caused by multiple rounds of severe weather that began April 2.

Entergy Arkansas recently launched a new initiative – The Power of Prosperity – a partnership to support Historically Black Colleges and Universities while simultaneously providing students with additional educational opportunities to empower them to build generational wealth.
