The company urges customers to finalize storm plans and stay informed.

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Entergy Texas continues to closely monitor Hurricane Rafael in the Caribbean. The storm made landfall in Cuba as a Category 3 hurricane Wednesday afternoon and has now entered the Gulf of Mexico. According to the current National Hurricane Center forecast, Rafael is expected to meander over the south-central Gulf of Mexico this weekend and early next week. The current forecast does not indicate major impacts to our service territory, but we remain storm ready.

“Our crews are on standby and prepared to work long hours to quickly respond if needed,” said Frank Shannon, vice president of reliability at Entergy Texas. “We have materials, supplies, and partnerships in place to bring in additional line crews if necessary. We understand how challenging these situations can be, and we are committed to standing by our communities every step of the way.”

Entergy Texas encourages customers to stay informed and prepare for potential power outages. Now is the time to finalize personal storm plans and create an emergency kit that includes essentials such as nonperishable food, water, flashlights, a first aid kit, portable chargers, and any necessary medications. The Entergy Storm Center provides tips on assembling an emergency kit and safety tips to support Texas families before, during and after extreme weather events.
