As extreme cold affects the state this week, Entergy Mississippi is working hard to make sure customers can stay warm and safe.
Winter weather in our service area has arrived, bringing snow, icing and cold temperatures to some areas. After the frozen precipitation moves out overnight tonight, we will see an extended period of extremely low temperatures in all four states we serve.
Arctic air with snow and sleet made its way into the state Sunday afternoon. Forecasts call for more precipitation across our service territory and is expected to continue through Monday evening.
Arctic air with snow and sleet made its way into the state Sunday, and currently there are approximately 2,400 Entergy Arkansas customers without power. We are mindful of the impact extreme cold temperatures have on our customers and will continue to work quickly and safely.
Some parts of our service area may see snow, ice, or freezing rain beginning this afternoon. This will be followed by an extended period of very low temperatures in all four states we serve.
While restoring power outages caused by severe weather and high winds that moved through the state Friday, Entergy Mississippi has also been monitoring and is prepared to respond to another major weather event expected across our service territory early this week.
