The extreme winter weather disrupted electrical service for approximately 54,000 Entergy customers at its height yesterday. As of 11:15 a.m., we have restored power to nearly 94% of our customers.

We have started restoring service to our customers where it is safe to do so and assessing damage to our system. A winter storm system bringing record and near-record low temperatures across most of the Entergy service area continues as we head into this holiday weekend.

The United Way of Southeast Louisiana reopened the J. Wayne Leonard Prosperity Center at 2402 Canal Street in New Orleans, one block away from its original location, after the building sustained significant water damage during Hurricane Ida and left staff to provide appointment-only services.

After working into the night and this morning, Entergy New Orleans and Entergy Louisiana crews and contractors have restored power to approximately 85% of customers in the hard-hit parishes of Jefferson, Orleans and St. Bernard.

As of 9:30 p.m. crews have successfully restored more than 29,000 customers – down from a peak of approximately 47,000 customers in Southeast Louisiana impacted by today’s severe weather.

Entergy New Orleans and Entergy Louisiana crews are assessing damage from severe weather that swept across the state and have begun the process of restoring power where it is safe to do so.

Our employees have been volunteering weekly with Rebuilding Together New Orleans and making energy efficiency upgrades and repairs to homes of low-income customers in New Orleans.
