Entergy Bike the Big Easy Set for Inaugural Event

On Saturday, Oct. 17, the city of New Orleans will host the newest community event for cyclists of all ability levels with the inaugural Entergy Bike the Big Easy. This unique format offers cyclists the opportunity to ride on closed city streets over a short 20-mile course or a longer 40-mile course, all while enjoying the non-competitive nature of the event. It’s a bike tour, NOT a race!

Entergy to Close Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station in Massachusetts No Later than June 1, 2019

Entergy Corporation announced today that it will close its Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station in Plymouth, Mass., no later than June 1, 2019, because of poor market conditions, reduced revenues and increased operational costs. The company notified the independent system operator of the electric grid, the ISO New England Inc., that as of that date, Pilgrim would not participate as a capacity resource in the market.

Entergy agrees to sell Rhode Island natural gas-fired power plant to Carlyle Power Partners

Entergy Corp. today announced that its wholesale generation division, Entergy Wholesale Commodities, has entered into an agreement to sell its 583-megawatt Rhode Island State Energy Center (RISEC), located in Johnston, R.I., to Carlyle Power Partners. The facility is a natural gas-fired, combined-cycle generating plant that entered commercial service in 2002.

Entergy Corporation announced that Mark Savoff, executive vice president and chief operating officer and Jeff Forbes, executive vice president and chief nuclear officer, plan to retire, effective first quarter 2016. Both leaders will transition to an advisory role beginning Nov. 1 until their effective retirement dates. Tim Mitchell, a 26-year Entergy nuclear veteran, has been named acting chief nuclear officer for the fleet, effective Nov. 1.
