Indian Point 3 Nuclear Power Returns to Service

Indian Point's Unit 3 nuclear power plant returned to service this afternoon, generating electricity less than 24 hours after the unit safely and automatically shut down following the failure of an electrical switch, or breaker, in a switchyard external to the plant. The switchyard is located across the street from Indian Point and receives electricity generated by the plant before distributing it out to the electrical grid.
