Company recognized for investing over $13 billion and creating nearly 7,000 jobs

For the 15th year in a row, Site Selection magazine has honored Entergy Corporation, the parent company of Entergy Louisiana and Entergy New Orleans, as being among the top electric utilities in economic development for job creation and capital investments.

Entergy Mississippi has opened a $16.6-million facility to serve as its hub for customer service, distribution operations and storm response in DeSoto County.

The Arkansas Public Service Commission has approved the Entergy Arkansas Driver Solar Project, a new 250-megawatt AC (or 312 MW DC) renewable energy plant developed by Lightsource bp, which will be located on approximately 2,100 acres near Osceola in Mississippi County. Driver Solar will be the utility’s largest solar facility, capable of generating enough energy to power more than 40,000 homes.

Companies sign MOU to develop options designed to accelerate the deployment of new renewable energy generation resources and to increase the resiliency of power supply in Entergy Texas’s Southeast Texas service area, where Sempra Infrastructure’s facilities are under development.

Entergy Mississippi has purchased the former Primos facility and 10 acres, and some 25 adjacent acres in the Flora Industrial Park, and will relocate 44 employees to the site once the property is in service next year.

Entergy selected West Monroe, Louisiana, as the location to expand its contact center operations. The company is adding around 170 new jobs that will be comprised of customer care representatives and several supervisors and training specialists.
