NEW ORLEANS – Entergy is helping 17 local environmental organizations protect our natural resources by contributing a total of $1 million in shareholder-funded grants through the company’s Environmental Initiatives Fund.
The award recognizes the company for its leadership and dedication to supporting local communities in the transition toward a more sustainable energy future.
New Orleans residents face a pressing challenge – our hot, humid climate demands energy-intensive cooling, and the city’s aging buildings can contribute to energy waste. This combination leads to higher utility bills, placing a significant financial burden on households. Effective energy efficiency programs can help address these challenges.
Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO) is expected to receive approximately $380,000 in cash incentives from Energy Smart, Entergy New Orleans’ energy efficiency program, for implementing a series of energy-saving upgrades across its campus.
Located in downtown Brandon near I-20, the company’s $350,000 fast charging station will serve both residents and EV drivers passing through on I-20 and nearby I-55.
Entergy New Orleans has partnered with The National Theatre for Children, Inc. to educate local students on the importance of energy efficiency.
Today, Entergy announced its 2023 Performance Report, titled “Energy for a better future.” Entergy’s strategic approach, outlined in the report, is designed to drive growth, enhance sustainability and build a more resilient system for the benefit of all our stakeholders.
