Entergy Louisiana and its employees, along with the Entergy Charitable Foundation, have a long history of supporting the communities they serve, and this year will be no different.
Entergy Arkansas helped power stronger, healthier communities in in 2020 by contributing $1,075,608 to nearly 90 nonprofit organizations statewide. Coupled with 23,501 hours of volunteer service last year, the total impact is approximately $1.7 million.
Entergy has worked tirelessly throughout 2020 to support Louisiana communities beyond keeping the lights on and the gas safely flowing, and the company is continuing those efforts this holiday season.
The annual fan distribution program helps low-income customers stay cool and save money
Entergy Corporation and the Entergy Charitable Foundation have helped power stronger, healthier communities in 2020 by contributing more than $8.7 million to 915 nonprofit organizations across the company’s service area during the first two quarters of the year.
Entergy Louisiana provided the Association of Community Partnerships a $50,000 grant to purchase personal protective equipment for agencies offering energy assistance to low-income families.
As part of its ongoing efforts to help customers with the greatest need, Entergy Arkansas announced Wednesday a $50,000 donation to the Arkansas Community Action Agencies Association, which manages the federally funded Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program from 14 locations across the state that covers 74 counties. The dollars will be used to purchase personal protection equipment, plexiglass or other contact barriers, office equipment and other supplies that will expedite processing for customers, who are anticipated by Entergy Arkansas to qualify and participate at greater numbers due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since establishing the COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund in March, Entergy shareholders have committed more than $1.3 million to help community nonprofits and qualifying customers who are struggling with the financial impact of the ongoing pandemic.
Employees at the Entergy New Orleans Power Station and Burns & McDonnell donated approximately 1,500 N95 masks to the hospital’s health care workers.
