More than 18,000 students in the Baton Rouge area are among the beneficiaries of the Entergy Charitable Foundation’s grants for the first half of 2016. New Schools for Baton Rouge is an example of the more than 80 nonprofit organizations in seven states recently awarded grants totaling $1.5 million from the company’s foundation.
Recognition for powering life in local communities comes from Civic 50, an initiative of the Points of Light organization.

Community-minded graduating high school seniors have been awarded Entergy Community Power Scholarships. Scholarships are $5,000 and presented to students from families of Entergy Corporation employees. Recipients are recognized for their volunteerism and academic success.
Entergy Corporation is number 18 on Corporate Responsibility Magazine’s 2016 list of the 100 Best Corporate Citizens. Entergy is the highest-ranking electric utility on the list. In the category of philanthropy and community support, Entergy is ranked number 4.

During LIHEAP Action Day March 2, Entergy Corporation representatives and community partners will be making the case for increased funding of the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program. The funding goal is at least $4.7 billion for 2017.
