Company has taken specific steps to prepare

Entergy’s Louisiana utilities continue to monitor the potential for impact to Louisiana from Tropical Storm Gordon. Forecasters have put southeast Louisiana under a tropical storm warning. The National Hurricane Center has issued a hurricane watch for parts of the Gulf Coast.

Even before the clouds passed, the rain ended and the final power outage was restored, Entergy employees came together to plan. First, Entergy worked to help customers and employees rebuild stronger communities. Entergy employees also worked to rebuild a stronger electric system. In the past year, Entergy Texas has taken steps to protect electric infrastructure, and improve restoration efforts following extreme weather.

Entergy has received the Edison Electric Institute's Emergency Assistance Award for its exceptional power restoration efforts following several nor’easters that impacted Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Jersey in March 2018.

With slightly above-average activity predicted for the 2018 Atlantic hurricane season, Entergy wants you to know it is ready to safely and quickly restore power should a storm strike our area.

The bluebonnets and dogwoods are blooming, which means spring is finally here! While spring can be warm and wonderful, it can also be wild and wooly. Tornadoes, lightning, high winds, flash flooding, severe thunderstorms and even hail can accompany the change in seasons.

Winter Storm Riley’s powerful blow to the East Coast continued to be felt Sunday with approximately 1 million homes and businesses in 16 states still in the dark. As part of Entergy’s mutual assistance contingent, some 200 Louisiana employees and contractors are on their way to help restore power to those who need it.

The National Weather Service has designated Feb. 19-23, 2018 as Severe Weather Awareness Week. Both the Louisiana and New Orleans offices of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness have joined in the recognition. Entergy prepares year-round for disruptive storm events and encourages everyone to prepare, too.
