As of 6 p.m., 5,160 customers remain without power. Damage assessments have been completed and include 115 broken poles, 244 spans of wire down, 122 spans of wire damaged by trees and limbs and 79 pieces of equipment remaining to be repaired or replaced.
Entergy Mississippi has restored power to more than 53,000 customers after severe weather struck our service territory late Tuesday, causing outages for nearly 80,000 customers. As of 6 p.m., about 26,000 customers remain without power. Most of the remaining outages are in areas hit hardest by the storm, including Copiah, Hinds, Madison, Rankin and Warren counties.
Severe weather pelted Entergy Mississippi’s service area Tuesday afternoon and evening, causing power outages for nearly 80,000 customers. As of 10 a.m., power has been restored to about 40,000 customers.
Severe weather has impacted the Entergy Mississippi service territory causing customer outages throughout our service area. We are mobilizing our workforce to assess damage and restore power. Restoration work will be proceeding as quickly and safely as possible. We will provide detailed restoration times as damage assessment is completed.
Crews have restored power to approximately 85% of customers in Louisiana after a strong band of storms brought high winds and damaged electric equipment and knocked out power to approximately 37,000.
