Entergy’s Louisiana storm team, now 3,600 strong, is continuing to assess damages to the electric system and restore power where it is safe to do so. Multiple winter storms brought damaging freezing rain and ice to the state.
A mix of ice and snow continues pushing through our service territory, causing new power outages for our customers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.
Entergy Texas expects most customers to be restored by end of day, Thursday (2/18).
As of 7:30 a.m., nearly 90,000 customers are without power. We currently have 49 substation circuit breakers out of service.
As a result of customer conservation, the system was successfully able to avoid mandatory outages. Keep up the good work!
As of 8 pm, there are approximately 19,380 customers without power, down from 33,657 at 3 p.m.
As of 8 p.m. nearly 58,000 customers are without power due to the ongoing ice storm. Most outages are north of a line from Natchez to Brookhaven up to the Jackson metro area and north of Madison and Canton toward Kosciusko.
Crews continued to make progress restoring power to customers in south Louisiana Wednesday as central and north Louisiana began seeing the impacts of a second winter storm in less than a week.
