Entergy’s Louisiana storm crews are continuing to assess damage and restore power where it is safe to do so after a winter storm brought extremely cold temperatures, freezing rain and large amounts of ice accumulations to the state Sunday and throughout Monday.

Entergy Louisiana has started power outages for its customers across the southwestern portion of its service territory.

Entergy’s Louisiana customers are asked to voluntarily reduce their electricity usage, especially between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. this evening.

Low temperatures and more time at home can increase usage and drive higher than normal bills

Entergy Louisiana is continuing to partner with regional organizations to help the state, including the Bayou Region, grow through economic development.

Entergy received five response awards, including recovery awards for Hurricane Laura and severe thunderstorms last April, and assistance awards for hurricanes Sally, Isaias and Hanna.

Instead of cranking up the thermostat during the cold weather months, take some free or low-cost steps to make your home more energy efficient to help save money on your utility bills.
