A line of thunderstorms caused widespread power outages for more than 15,000 customers throughout our service area late Friday, June 5. As of 3 p.m., Entergy Mississippi crews have restored power for more than 12,600 customers. We are also prepared for the impacts of Tropical Storm Cristobal, including potential power outages.

Brian Lanka, currently director of engineering at Waterford 3, has accepted the chief engineering director position for the Entergy fleet. In this role he will be responsible for leading multiple fleet-wide engineering initiatives. Crystal Garbe, currently plant support engineering manager, has been named director of engineering at Waterford 3.

Providing a helping hand to the community is an act of kindness Entergy employees take part in year-round, even in times of crisis.

Longtime Entergy employee and Mountain View resident Everette Sadler Jr. has the keys to the city. Or at least the keys to the gates. More like the tool shed. “I have the keys to get to the lawnmower so I can keep the grass cut at our professional-grade disc golf course I helped create,” Sadler said recently, “which makes me pretty proud.”

Students and faculty at Southern University are using 3D printers in their Entergy-sponsored lab to make parts for reusable N95 masks to be used by COVID-19 health care professionals.
