Entergy Mississippi has restored power to more than 38,000 customers after severe thunderstorms caused significant equipment damage and power outages throughout much of our northern and central service areas on Saturday, January 11.
As of 11 a.m. Tuesday, about 4,000 customers affected by the weekend’s storms remain without power, down from a peak of 38,300. We made significant progress yesterday and have brought in special equipment to help us access and restore damage in hard-to-reach areas.
As of noon today, power has been restored for nearly 29,700 Entergy Mississippi customers affected by Saturday morning’s storms. About 8,600 customers remain without power, primarily in our northern service area. We expect some customers to be restored by Tuesday evening, though some in the hardest hit areas will carry over to Wednesday.
As of 7 p.m., power has been restored for 25,300 Entergy Mississippi customers. About 13,000 customers remain without power, down from a peak of 38,300.
The Delta region of Mississippi was hit especially hard by this morning’s storms, causing significant damage. As of Saturday evening, we have almost 400 broken poles among other damage.
Severe thunderstorms caused outages Friday night and Saturday morning throughout much of Entergy Mississippi’s service area. As of 1 p.m., about 32,000 customers are without power.
