Since graduating from Lineworker’s Boot Camp last August, Entergy’s newest apprentices have participated in some of the most challenging service-restoration efforts in company history, including devastating hurricanes in Louisiana and, more recently, a winter storm in Mississippi.

Entergy Mississippi has restored service to 8,500 customers who lost power when severe weather passed through our service area late Wednesday, March 17.

Stormy weather producing thunderstorms, heavy rain, hail, lightning and tornadoes struck Entergy Mississippi’s service area late Wednesday, causing scattered outages from Attala County to the Mississippi/Louisiana state line. About 1,673 customers remain without power, down from a peak of approximately 8,500. 

Entergy Mississippi is preparing to respond to severe weather predicted to strike our service area starting later today. The severe weather could include tornadoes, hail, damaging winds, flash flooding and lightning.
