Entergy’s vast restoration workforce has restored power to most customers outside of the hard-hit Southwest Louisiana area.
Just over one week after Hurricane Laura delivered a catastrophic blow to southwest Louisiana, power was restored Sunday morning in the communities of Toomey and Starks in heavily impacted Calcasieu Parish.
For the first time since Hurricane Laura delivered catastrophic damage to Entergy Louisiana’s service territory across the state.
It may be mid-September before power is available to customers in the Lake Charles area who can safely receive it.
Entergy’s storm team restored power to more than 95% of the 130,000 north Louisiana customers affected by Hurricane Laura in just eight days.

As of 8:00 a.m., Entergy Texas has 6,230 customers without power compared to the peak of 291,300 customers. A total of 285,070 customers have been restored since the peak of the storm.
