The Edison Electric Institute today presented Entergy Corporation with the association's "Emergency Assistance Award" after a severe windstorm impacted Dallas in June. Entergy also received the association's "Emergency Recovery Award" for its outstanding power restoration efforts after Hurricane Barry hit Louisiana in July.

Crews expect to restore power by tonight to the vast majority of customers still without electricity due to Olga, with a few pockets of customers in the hardest hit areas to see power restored sometime Tuesday.
Crews have restored power to more than 79,000 of the customers affected by the remnants of Tropical Storm Olga that hit Louisiana Saturday.
As of 8 a.m. Sunday, power had been restored to approximately 66,000 of the 92,000 customers affected by the storm that caused significant damage to Entergy infrastructure, largely in southeast Louisiana. The New Orleans metro area and Hammond areas were hit the hardest by the storm that downed trees and damaged more than 150 poles.
Crews have made progress, reducing a Saturday morning peak of 92,000 customer outages to 31,000 — a more than 60% decrease — by 7 p.m.
Olga moved quickly through Louisiana, bringing thunderstorms and high winds that knocked out power to more than 92,000 customers at its peak Saturday morning. As of 10:30 a.m. Saturday, approximately 77,000 customer outages remained.
