On day three of assessing damage and restoration work following Ida’s landfall, Entergy has restored nearly 107,800 customers.

An anticipated storm team of more than 20,000 is assessing the vast damage and destruction across New Orleans, southeast Louisiana and Mississippi, and restoring service where it is safe to do so.

Entergy crews and additional resource workers have made significant progress restoring power to nearly 36,000 customers after Hurricane Ida caused outages for approximately 46,000 customers on Monday. As of 12 p.m., about 10,700 customers remain without power.

The first light is a sign of hope, early this morning, as Entergy crews turn power on for some customers in eastern New Orleans with generation supplied by the New Orleans Power Station.

Just two days after Hurricane Ida delivered a catastrophic blow to Louisiana, Entergy has determined two options to bring first lights into the Greater New Orleans area by late evening Wednesday, Sept. 1.
